Announcement: Computerbank Secures a New Home

Dear valued volunteers, customers, donors and supporters,

Computerbank has secured a new home in Broadmeadows at the former Ericsson factory site. The facility includes a small store and warehouse space shared with ESE (Enable Social Enterprises), an organisation focused on employment programs and circular economy approaches in IT asset disposition and data destruction.

Operational changes

The relocation brings several service modifications:

• Product focus: Laptops will be the primary offering; desktops will no longer be sold
• Operating system flexibility: While Linux-based systems remain our specialty, Windows machines will be available upon request
• Sales expansion: A physical showroom will operate alongside new online sales and shipping options
• Support services: Remote Linux support will be offered

Timeline

The current North Melbourne location at 1 Stawell Street will remain operational through mid-April, with the new Broadmeadows store opening in May.
